So you want to be a Mocker...?

Do you enjoy Public Speaking? Acting? Being Right in an Arugment? Have you ever wanted to be Elle Woods in Legally Blonde? Hank Palmer in The Judge? Harvey Specter in Suits? Do you want to travel around the country competing at tournaments with a close-knit group of friends?

Then you've come to the right place.

Why Join?

How to Join

Argue

Mock trial presents the opportunity to argue like no other activity. It forces you to be creative, analytical and think on your feet. From arguing objections, to giving a rebutal in closing argument, mock trial is a great platform for convincing Judges that you are right.

Think

Mock trial is a 3-D strategical board game that forces you to think analytically almost like no other college activity. Mock trial prepares you to think of a million different moving parts all at the same time if you want to win.

Perform

Mock trial doesn't only rely on the skills of lawyers to come out ahead, but one of the most important roles is the witness. The possibilities for these witnesses is endless, from a German Forensic Linguist, to a preppy babysitter, the witness roles every year allow creativity and the chance to perform in front of judges.

Comradarie

Every extra-curricular activity allows the development of friendships, but mock is something more. You'll be spending time with people that you get to know closely all the time: practices, tournaments, travel, and a lot in between. Mock trial will allow you the opportunity to make close friends that will last a lifetime, both through Clark, and other schools.

Get Ready for an Amazing Experience

Mock trial takes a lot of time and effort. But the learning that occurs, the friendships that develop, and the memories that it creates, are anything short of worthwhile.

Incoming and current clark students can sign up on Clark Engage to get all emails and information!

Express Interest

Use the above form to express interest, stop by Thursday's class, or reach out to a captain via their provided emails on the contact page.

Get Informed

Clark hosts a pre-law information panel every fall during Week 1 for new first-year or transfer students. We also will be holding information sessions where we encourage you to come by and talk with members of the team and ask questions.

Register for Class

There are no official requirements for joining mock trial. However, there is a class offered that assists with your understanding of the procedures of mock trial. The class is Trial Advocacy (LAS 038), and it is taught by Professor Kennedy. If you are interested in taking the class, it is only offered in the fall so make sure you register!

Travel

Who doesn't like traveling? Mock trial allows you the opportunity to explore New England and other areas. In the past we have attended tournaments in Washington D.C., Boston, and Albany.

We hope to see you soon!
